The future
Both flow and manifold programming should be considered for further development of flow analysis.
The excessive number of acronyms for specifying the modalities of flow analysis will certainly be reduced, and the flow analyzers will broadly classified as either segmented or unsegmented. The most common example of the latter category will certainly be the flow injection analyzer.
The number of applications will be always increasing and intensive hyphenating the flow analyzer with other instruments will came true.
For normalization purposes, concept sedimentation, nomenclature definition and support to the community involved with flow analysis, the foundation of an International Flow Analysis Society is a must.
